The Threobroma Cacao plant is the source for cocoa it
belongs to the mallow & hibiscus family of plants. It is not a legume despite
the fruit being referred to as a bean or a pod. Botanically the fruit is a
Pepolike Berry.
But Boxed Chocolates, Chocolate Bars, Powdered Chocolate
drinks and Chock-milk, Icecreams etc, almost always contain some added legumes
like Soy or Peanuts and many other harmful substances.
Ingredients
500ml of Organic Pure Whole Milk, Coconut Milk or Nut Milk
95g of Homemade Dark Chocolate or 95g Pure Organic Baking
Chocolate (unsweetened) grated or broken into small pieces
3 tbsp raw Honey
1/2 tsp of Homemade or Organic Cornstarch or Potato Starch
Method
Pour the milk into a medium heavy bottomed saucepan and add
the cornstarch and whisk it to dissolve the cornstarch. Once the cornstarch is
dissolved, heat the milk on medium heat, just until it starts to boil, then
remove from heat. Add the chocolate immediately and begin stirring until the
chocolate is completely melted. If the milk cools off too fast, place the pan
back on the stove on low heat to melt the chocolate.
If you are using baking chocolate, which is semi-sweetened,
reduce the amount of honey. If not sweet enough you can increase the amount of
honey to taste, then stir until thoroughly dissolved. Adding spices like
Cinnamon, Star Anise, Nutmeg or Allspice etc gives a pleasant taste sensation.
