Once your Baby is eating a few mouthfuls of semi-solid food
and has shown no adverse reactions to it, then you can start to add a few
extras and mix the foods they have already tried, being careful to watch for
any signs of adverse reactions.
Try mixing a very small amount of Organic Free Range,
Pasture Fed Pure Butter in with the foods. Adding a very small amount of spices
like Ceylon Cinnamon. (There are 2 types of cinnamon commonly available, Ceylon
Cinnamon and Cassia Cinnamon, ONLY use Ceylon Cinnamon it is much more
expensive than Cassia, but Cassia or Chinese Cinnamon that comes from Vietnam,
China and Indonesia should be avoided, although they both have anti-fungal,
antiviral, anti-microbial, blood regulation and other beneficial properties,
Cassia Cinnamon contains high amounts of Coumarin which is highly toxic. Even
small amounts can damage the liver and kidneys. Real Cinnamon is soft and comes
in roll like a cigar is easy to grind or crush. Fake or Cassia Cinnamon is
dark, heavy, tough and solid it is very hard to grind or crush. Almost all
cinnamon in ground form, found in supermarkets and used commercially is Cassia
cinnamon).
Try adding a little Homemade Condiment with the foods,
anything that is good for adults is also good for babies but only in very small
amounts. If a baby's food is bland and uninteresting they can grow up to be
fussy eaters, whereas making the foods tasty and enjoyable will encourage them
to eat.
It is not a good idea to add sugar to baby’s foods as they
can develop a "sweet tooth" and always expect their foods to be
sweet. There is ample sugar in fresh fruits and vegetables, adding a small
amount if high quality dietary fat from Cold Pressed Organic Coconut Oil, Palm
Oil, Olive Oil or Fresh Avocado instead adds flavor and helps with the
metabolizing of oil soluble vitamins, as well as adding a valuable energy source.
A very small amount of sea salt or a pinch of edible seaweed
is also beneficial if added to baby foods but not enough so the food tastes
salty, this adds essential minerals especially iodine as well as helping to
regulate and stabilizing blood sugar levels. Avoid processed salt or table salt
especially with iodine as this is in a form that is harmful.
For convenience babies food can be frozen for a week or 2.
Make up a larger amount and freeze it in portions. We purchased a stainless ice
cube tray and a set of very small "Pyrex" (heat and freezer proof
glass) bowls with lids to do this. It makes it very easy to produce wholesome
healthy meals on demand, they can be taken anywhere in a thermos container
either frozen, at room temperature or warmed, or used at home.
